Foundation Crack Repair in the Kansas City Metro

Overview

Not All Cracks Are Created Equal

Most poured concrete foundations develop some hairline shrinkage cracks as they cure, and these are typically cosmetic. Structural cracks are a different story, and they tend to be wider, actively growing, or letting water through.
We inspect the crack, the surrounding wall, and the grading outside to determine whether it is a cosmetic issue or a sign of structural movement, then recommend the right repair method: epoxy or polyurethane injection for non-structural cracks, or wall anchors, carbon fiber straps, or piering for cracks caused by ongoing pressure or settling.
Left unaddressed, a structural crack can widen over time and become an entry point for water, which is why we recommend having any crack wider than a hairline evaluated.

FAQ

Common Questions

No. Small vertical hairline cracks from normal concrete curing are common and usually cosmetic. Horizontal cracks, stair-step cracks in block foundations, or cracks wider than about a quarter inch are worth having inspected.
Many cracks can be sealed from the inside with epoxy or polyurethane injection. Cracks caused by outside water pressure sometimes need exterior work as well, which we will explain during your inspection.
A properly diagnosed and repaired crack, especially one addressed with the correct method for its cause, should hold. That is why diagnosis matters as much as the repair itself, and why every job is backed by a written warranty.
Called after finding a horizontal crack in the basement wall. They diagnosed it as soil pressure, installed wall anchors, and walked us through the warranty paperwork clearly.
